In less than two weeks, I'll be on another continent located on the other side of the globe, and greeting the day 14 hours ahead of everyone else here in Calgary. It's ironic that when I finally find a reason to make a post (this being the first post of the summer), it's about my leaving for Asia and my subsequent absence from blogging until I get back. This time last year, there would have been multiple posts about the ending of the Spring semester, the Stampede, and the other miscellaneous outs and abouts that is summer in Calgary. This year however, I just didn't feel the need to chronicle my life in posts. Instead, I opted to just live and make the most of my time left in Calgary before I embark on my trip to Asia with my friend. It's overwhelming how soon I'm leaving. I've never even been on a plane before, and I always imagined that my first flight would be short and sweet, perhaps and trip to Vancouver let alone full on 14hours to Singapore. I'm excited though. I seem to always experience cabin fever this time of year in Calgary, so to be able to get away for three weeks will be a treat (and much needed). Ahhh I can't wait!

one temporary escape

as it whithers, brittle it shakes
can you whisper, as it crumbles and breaks
as you shiver, count up all your mistakes
pair of forgivers, let go before it's too late
